Assuming Vista lets you assign those keys to run a program, you could use Steve Gibson's Wizmo to do this:

You want the command "wizmo monoff" I believe...

Want a small, free WYSIWYG web editor? I use Kompozer and it works really well.
Also, Firefox v3 (currently Release Candidate) is VERY fast. It opens quickly and the pages load like lightning. It's my main browser.

The Fujitsu web site has some recently updated P1610 Vista drivers:-
Audio (Sigmatel) V6.10.5866.0-
Fingerprint Driver V7.10.0.2 The shock sensor utility was updated to V2.0 Update-001, but I don't know how recently. A new Intel video driver that limits screen rotation is also listed. |

Is the 6.10.5866.0 working fine? The mic is working properly? The last time I updated this driver I mic level was to low and noisy.

Works fine for me on my P7230, which I think is the same sound hardware except it does have dual mics.
That driver is supposedly a Vista SP1 support update, if you're running on Vista RTM there might be an issue, not sure.

Well that latest driver does not work too well. The Mic level is too low. It's impossible to record anything.

Have you tried to increase the mic level? It's hard to find - Control Panel, Sound, Internal Mic, Recording, Properties, Levels, and you'll see a slider.
Also be sure the right devices are set as default, with the right sound quality settings, etc.

The Sigmatel drivers for P1610 has been always a problem and most of the time with this issue. You can find it first reports of it in jkOnTheRun where James was complaining about being impossible to use in Skype because of this low level issue.

Can't comment on Skype, but I had no problems recording with Vista Sound Recorder and the internal mic set to levels 25, 50, 75 and 100. Distance from the mic varied from one to three feet. The vocals sounded fine. A background hiss became worse at higher levels and distances but this is to be expected.
In addition, I've noticed that speaker output seems to be a bit better using the Sigmatel 5866 driver. |

Interesting. The 5866 works find in it's audio part of it for me. But the recording portion is the one that it's not working.
